At the most recent event, over 182 volunteers from Loops Bradford and Bangor sites ( including directors from both companies) took it in turns to man the phone lines and take pledges from members of the public during the live television appeal.
Colleagues from yorkshire Water and other local companies such as Hammonds, Farnells and DMB ( HMRC Inland Revenue) also lent support and in total we raised over £88,000 for Comic Relief. The evening was great fun with prizes awarded for the first donation taken, the largest donation taken and many more. An alternate raffle also took place with many volunteers going home with a surrprise gift ranging from a can a of beer to a pair of socks!

In the weeks leading up to the event, we also raised a further £3000+ through a variety of fundraising activites. These included the hilarious Bush Tucker Trial where volunteers competed to eat food such as scorpions, tarantulas, chickens feet and brain curry, the BIG Raffle in which fantasic prizes such as DVD players and digital cameras were up for grabs, an Ipod Raffle, dress down day, pay for parking event and much much more!

The event is a lot of hard work to plan and organise but as the result on the night show, it is definately worth it. Our final total taken over the past four events is over £608,000 and were already planning for 2011!.
