As a billing specialist in the customer support team I spend my days sorting out in-depth billing issues. These range from looking at our billing processes to try to make them better to dealing with historical issues and writing to customers. I also cover for the team’s manager and do quite a bit of training and coaching of others as part of my role.

After working in the same department for 21 years I can still say that I enjoy coming to work! In 2008 after 15 years of working full time after I had my children, I reduced to working three days a week, so now I’m busier!

I think the first reason I enjoy my job is the people, many I have now known for years and can trust and rely on them.

Secondly is of course the work, I don’t think I’ve had two working days the same, which makes life very interesting.

I also liaise with other teams within Loop and Yorkshire Water on a daily basis to help resolve mostly complex customer queries. People know that they can contact me and I will always help them with anything.
