Loop and Yorkshire Water last week won another award, this time at the Utilities and Telecomms Awards.
A team of nine from the business centre, collections and credit strategy spent an evening at the Belfry at the awards ceremony and proudly collected the honour last week.
Loop and Yorkshire Water were named Best Water Team and were finalists in the Treating Customers Fairly for their work on CAIS – Credit Account Information Sharing – in conjunction with Experian.
This industry-leading project has resulted in increased revenue – an additional £2m in early arrears was collected in 2011/12 – as well as giving the company better information on which to base our debt recovery decisions. I can better identify customers who can’t pay and need help, instead of considering them as people who won’t pay.
The team beat Dwr Cymru, Severn Trent Water, Southern Water and Wessex Water to the coveted Water Team Of The Year award.
Loop’s managing director Jonathan Harding said: “I’m delighted that we continue to be recognised by our industry and amongst our peers as some of the best in the business.
“I’m incredibly proud of the whole team here at Loop and the level of customer service we provide.
“It’s incredibly important to us to manage our customers in a fair and compassionate way and the CAIS project was truly industry-leading, bringing benefits to both us and the customers we serve.”
The judges said: “They demonstrated customer interaction and also the selling points around the reduction in debt collection fees. They demonstrated that they are doing the best by their customers within the regulatory framework they operate in.”
