Sidra wins Young Professional Of The Year Award

A young manager from Bradford was last night named Young Professional of the Year at the European Call Centre and Customer Service Awards 2013 in London.

Sidra Ayaz (26) from Thornbury, Bradford, works for Loop Customer Management, which delivers customer service on behalf of Yorkshire Water from its base in Thornbury. Customers may also have seen Sidra on Yorkshire Water’s website, where she is the ‘Virtual Agent’, helping customers with queries online.

This week Sidra joined more than 100 people from a wide range of companies and fought off competition from young professionals from John Lewis Partnership, Capita Manchester Operations and Transform Sandwell to take the glittering title.

Customer Care Team Manager Sidra says: “When my name was read out I just couldn’t believe it! All I do is work hard and try to do a good job. The support I’ve been given by my manager and other people at Loop has really helped me move on in my career and I’m grateful for the time people have given to help me progress.

“I’m honoured to be named among such prestigious names in the customer service arena and proud to be bringing the Outstanding Young Professional award back to Bradford.”

Jonathan Harding, managing director of Loop Customer Management said: “We are so proud of Sidra and the example she sets on a daily basis, so it’s a fantastic endorsement of her skills and enthusiasm that she has been recognised as outstanding amongst her peers.

“At work Sidra is dedicated, thorough and always thinking of ways to make things better for the customer. She embodies the way we like to work at Loop, combining fun with hard work. She is a credit to our organisation and very deserving of this prestigious award.”

The judges also credited entrants, saying “We had a very high standard of submissions this year and the stories of exceptional customer service have been nothing short of inspirational. It was very difficult to whittle down the entries, however, the brightest stars have ultimately made their way to the top.”

Despite being only 26, Sidra started her career at Loop more than seven years ago when she took a job as a customer relationship manager while at college. She continued to work for the company throughout her A levels and degree and, despite qualifying as a pharmacist, chose to take a full time role once she graduated.

Sidra now manages a team of 16 who deal with customer complaints on behalf of Yorkshire Water.
